Van Tek Solutions was originally started in 1998 by Kyle Van der Most, as a full-service Information Technology Consulting solution.
After 20+ years of servicing the IT industry I decided to start looking at other means of work. Working with my hands has been a passion of mine, I decided to start a construction company. In 2022 I made the switch from IT Consulting to handyman services. The demand for my skills and time quickly turned into more of renovations and construction offering.
My current project, a large house remodel, has a strong focus on accessibility for a wheelchair bound individual.
This included many accessibility changes to allow for a wheelchair use for better access to the facilities.
This involved the installation of an elevator, opening up walls to allow for better flow and accessibility. Also the creation of a bathroom that is designed specifically for special needs, ie wall to wall tile, large shower door, curbless shower, with floating shower bench.
With the experienced gained on my last project, I would like to continue on focusing on accessibility construction and renovations. My experience with working with architects, engineers and the city officials to get the drawings and permitting done will help with moving projects forward.
Our population is aging and their desire to stay in the house they built memories in instead of moving into assisted living is something I can help with, there are many opportunities to help people stay in their house longer.
